Vienna, VA, March 16, 2016 – The Institute for Excellence in Sales (IES) announced that its Women in Sales (WiS) program will launch on Tuesday, April 5 with a program at the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce offices in Tysons Corner. IES developed this program to provide an open forum for participants to build a community and hone sales performance, sales management and leadership skills.
The program will help participants to grow through the collaborative exchange of advice, experience, education and mentorship. The WiS program was built on four pillars including community, personal development, career development, and leadership or management growth.
“We’re thrilled to be launching this series, as we see a great demand for women in sales to collaborate and learn from each other,” said Tassey Russo, President of Level Up Solutions and program leader for WiS. “There has long been a need for this type of program and IES, with its mission of growing the sales profession, was the right organization to bring it to life.”
Russo said that more than 30 notable women in sales participated on the steering committee that developed the program. Among the distinguished women who helped create the program were the following who will serve on the inaugural WiS Advisory Board:
- Anne Altman, General Manager, IBM US Federal and Government Industries (retired)
- Gail Azaroff, Adayana Government Group
- Aileen Black, Accelerated Government Strategies
- Jen Burns, Hobsons
- Mary Beth Cockerham, Deltek
- Judy Freeman, Sales Performance International

- Julide Gunduc, Gartner
- LaVenus Jordan, ADP
- Phyllis Riley, Tempus
“We have been waiting for an opportunity such as this to network and learn from the best women in the business,” said advisory board member Gail Azaroff, Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Adayana Government Group. “Inspiring sales professionals is something I am strongly passionate about and feel that all experienced leaders should have a role in doing so.”
