Deltek Sales Leader Mary Beth Cockerham to Receive Women in Sales Leadership Award

The Institute for Excellence in Sales (IES) announced that Paul Smith, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Red Hat’s Public Sector business is the recipient of the IES seventh annual Lifetime Achievement award. Previous recipients include Art Richer and Steve Charles of immixGroup, Mark Weber of NetApp, Bruce Klein of Cisco and HP, Anne Altman of IBM and Jay Nussbaum of Oracle and Agilex.

The award will be presented to Smith at the IES 7th Annual Sales Excellence Award event on Tuesday, June 6. The award event will be held at the Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA. Over 300 sales leaders are expected to attend.

Paul SmithSmith joined Red Hat in November 2004 and leads the Red Hat government business unit with responsibility for sales, marketing, consulting, channels, and strategic planning. The business unit is responsible for the U.S. federal government worldwide and the U.S. state, local, and education marketplace nationally.

Smith brings to Red Hat more than 30 years of experience marketing key technologies to the government marketplace holding various management positions in the sales of software solutions to government agencies and to systems integrators.

Deltek’s Mary Beth Cockerham to Receive Women in Sales Exec Award

The IES also announced that Mary Beth Cockerham, Deltek Senior Vice President of Sales, will receive its Women in Sales Executive Leadership award.

Ms. Cockerham has had a wonderful career as a sales leader. As Vice President of Sales, Ms. Cockerham leads the sales teams responsible for all new member acquisition for Deltek’s GovWin IQ, offering business intelligence to companies pursuing public sector sales. She is also responsible for the Global Sales Development teams. She joined Deltek as part of the INPUT acquisition in 2010.

Mary Beth CockerhamPrior to joining INPUT in 2006, Ms. Cockerham enjoyed a 20 year sales career at Sun Microsystems, where she held a variety of sales and sales management positions in both public sector and commercial sales. She participated in the introduction of Sun’s Federal reseller program and during her tenure at Sun she partnered with many of the technology vendors who comprise the GovWin Network.

Diamond said, “Mary Beth has been a leading figure in the tech sales industry for years. As a member of the IES Advisory Board, she has helped hundreds of women grow their sales and business careers. We’re very excited to recognize her at the event.”
