WeddingWire Sales Vice President Kara DelVecchio to Keynote Event
August 31, 2016 – Vienna, Va. – The Institute for Excellence in Sales (IES) announced Wednesday that the inaugural Women in Sales SELLING Edge 2016 Conference will be held on Thursday, October 6 in Tysons Corner. Kara Delvecchio, Vice President, Inside Sales for WeddingWire, will kick off the half-day conference with a special keynote lunch on strategies women can implement to empower themselves in sales.
The program will feature a keynote, six breakout sessions, a sales leader panel discussion, and cocktail reception. It is the first event of its kind, focusing on topics that are of immediate importance to female sales professionals.
“Provoking Greatness” author Misti Burmeister has been tapped to lead a special session, “Provokability: Getting Your Sales Team to Step Up and Deliver!”
“The timing is right for the IES Women in Sales SELLING Edge 2016 Conference,” said Tassey Russo, President of Level Up Solutions and Director, IES Women in Sales. “The female sales professionals who have been attending IES Women in Sales programs range from senior level executives to millennials that are new to sales. They also work for large, medium, and small companies. They have been asking us to create a conference full of ideas, tactics, and strategies they can implement immediately to accelerate their sales efforts.”
The breakout sessions will focus on three conference streams: professional development, sales skills, and leadership development. Senior sales and business leaders in the Mid-Atlantic region will lead the breakout sessions:

Keynote speaker Kara DelVecchio oversees a sales team of more than 150 sales professionals. Prior to joining WeddingWire Kara held a variety of roles at CEB and most recently served as Executive Director of North American sales overseeing a $400 million revenue line.
The conference will include a panel discussion featuring leading female sales and business leaders from the tech, government services, and environmental build-out industries. Participants will include Anne Altman (formerly of IBM), Mary Beth Cockerham (Deltek), and Susan Jackson-Lee (MOI).
Over 250 sales and business development professionals are expected to attend the SELLING EDGE 2016 Conference, which will be held at the Tegna/USA Today Building in Tysons Corner. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS). The conference will conclude with a networking social hour.
