VIENNA, Va. – Oct. 12, 2020  –The Institute for Excellence in Sales (IES) is proud to recognize Darrell Gehrt, Vice President of Sales at Cvent, as the 2020 Member of the Year. Gehrt will be honored this week at the virtual IES Sales Excellence Awards on Friday, October 16.

As a member-based entity, the IES recognizes yearly sales leaders who have demonstrated leadership in corporate and B2B sales while also providing optimal leadership at the IES. Qualifications for the Member of the Year Award include a substantive career as a sales professional and a commitment to improving the sales profession by serving other IES members either as a program leader, council member or active participant.

Gehrt has been an IES member since 2015 and serves on the IES Executive Council. His professional career has been defined by taking on a series of entrepreneurial ventures that have grown rapidly. His professional experiences range from starting as a commission-only sales rep, to co-founding a business services company, which three years later was successfully sold to a competitor.

Gehrt joined Cvent in January 2013 to run sales for its Web Survey Division. As the division grew, so did his responsibilities and ultimately Darrell led the rebrand project from Cvent Web Surveys to Inquisium, driving a robust go-to-market plan and growth strategy. In 2016, Darrell’s responsibilities expanded once again and today he also oversees Cvent’s comprehensive mobile solutions division including top line sales, client satisfaction and retention, marketing, and product development.
